You can personalize the look and feel of all the certificates.
You can create multiple certificate templates based on your requirements for different Learning plans or Modules.
To assign Certificates to the learners you will need to create a certificate template.
Learners will be able to download their certificates on completing the module which has a certificate set on it.
Steps to Create a Certificate Template:
- Go to the Certificate Templates link under the Content Menu.
- Here you will see the list of currently made Certificate templates or it will be empty if you are creating a template for the first time. You can switch between grid and card view from the icons present at the top right corner.
- Click on the Add New button to open the form.
- On the left side, you will see all the fields for creating a template. The right side shows a preview of how the certificate will look when a user downloads it. Any customizations that you do on the left side, will get reflected on the preview.
You can also select from different options for the background image from the slider given at the top of the preview. - Enter data in Fields
- Certificate template name: This is the name that will show in the card/grid view for your reference.
- Logo: Any logo selected or uploaded to the media gallery will be shown on the top right area of the certificate. Here you may like to upload your company logo etc.
- Certificate Title: This is the title of the certificate. This will be shown on top of the certificate.
- Show Module name: Control whether you want to show the module name on the certificate.
- Date of Completion: Control whether you want to show the module's date of completion on the certificate.
- Leaderboard: Control whether you want to show the rank on the certificate. The ranks are only allotted in Quiz type modules otherwise the rank is 0.
- Time taken to complete: Control whether you want to show the time taken to complete the module on the certificate.
- Score Percentage: Control whether you want to show the score percentage on the certificate. The scores are only allotted on Quiz type modules otherwise the scores will be shown as 0.
- Signature: Add a picture of your signature or that of the person authorized to sign the certificates. A signature will appear on the bottom-right corner of the certificate.
- Name & Designation: Add the name and designation of the person authorized to sign the certificates. The name & designation will appear below the Signature.
After filling out the form, the preview will reflect how the certificate is going to look for the learners.
- Voilà, you have created your first certificate template. You will be redirected to the grid/card view page now.
About Grid view
The grid shows some basic data that you had entered in the certificate(s) like name, title, creation dates, etc.
At the top, you can see the Add New, Refresh button. You can select multiple rows then a Delete button will also be shown to delete it in bulk.
To make any changes, we have the actions column.
- Edit: Edit/Update the content of your certificate template.
- Delete: Delete a certificate template. If the template is already used in a Module, you will need to remove the certificate from the module to delete it or you will get an error like Can not delete! The template is already in use.
- View Logs: View who has been issued this certificate, for which module, and what time it was generated for the learner.
Show Hide Columns: Customize which grid columns are displayed. Your preferences will be saved for future visits to this page.
Change pages: Change how many rows you want to show on one page, go to different pages, if you have a lot many certificate templates.
Filtering & Sorting: You can search in the column by clicking on the down arrow in the column header or change the sorting order by clicking on the column header.
About Card page:
The card view shows the name of the certificate template, template background, issued count, edit, delete, and logs button in a card-like format.
At the top, you can see the Add New, Refresh button. You can select multiple rows then a Delete button will also be shown to delete it in bulk.
- Edit: Edit/Update the content of your certificate template.
- Delete: Delete a certificate template. If the template is already used in a Module, you will need to remove the certificate from the module to delete it or you will get an error like "Can not delete! The template is already in use".
- View Logs: View who has been issued this certificate, for which module, and what time it was generated for the learner.
How to use a Certificate template for a Module?
- Go to the Learning Plans link from the left menu.
- Create or Edit any Learning plan.
- Add a module by clicking on the Add Module button at the bottom.
- Select any type of module aside from Events because certificates can not be allotted on an event-type module.
- When the module gets added to the learning plan, expand it to see all the module attributes.
- You will see a certificate section inside the advanced attributes. Click on it and enable the certificate, a dropdown with current certificates will appear below. Select the new certificate you have created and click on the Save button of the learning plan.
- Now you have successfully set a certificate for a module. When any user completes this module in this learning plan, they will be able to download their certificate with a unique QR code and their details about the module as you have set in the template.
