Points
are depicted in numbers, you can assign points either on Completion or Performance of a learner in Learning or Module.
Points are much like your credit card points, they accumulate and can be redeemed for rewards later.
Badges
are depicted as images, you can assign badges either on Completion or on Performance of a learner in Learning or Module.
Badges are special recognitions that can be given for exemplary behavior or achievement while points get accumulated, scores are not. Badges are one-time recognitions awarded, much like the stripes on a uniform. A single user can not have multiple Badges of the same name.

Go to the Badges (Global) folder to access the predefined Badge images.
The type field will be set to module automatically when you are creating a badge while creating a module.
Allotting criteria can be set on completion, meaning any learner who completes the module will get the Badge.
Or we can set it to Performance when we want the learner to achieve a certain score or points to get the Badge.
Performance badges can be allotted based on the actual value or a percentage value of either scores or points. Set the criteria and click on the Create button. Your badge will be created.

Add the name of the Badge, Image, and type of the Badge whether it is a Learning plan or a Module type Badge, then select the Learning plan(s)/ Module(s) for allotting this Badge. Set up the allotment condition as Completion meaning that the learner will get this Badge as soon as he completes the module or it can be set on Performance when we want the learner to achieve a certain Score or Points criteria to achieve this Badge. The value of Score or Points can be set to an absolute value or it can be a percentage.
Then click on Save or Save & New to continue creating Badges, now you have created a new Badge.
Managing Badges for Modules added inside the Learning Plan
When you add a module to a learning plan, any badges or points already assigned to that module will show up in the module details within the learning plan.
You can make changes to the badge or points setup for that module just for this learning plan.
These changes won’t affect the original module. They only apply to learners who access the module through this learning plan.
Learners will receive badges and points according to the settings in the learning plan.
If a module is assigned directly to a learner (outside of a learning plan), the original badges and points set in the module will be applied.
